Christmas Vacation

Okay so I realize that it has been an insane amount of time since I updated this blog so I am going to do a few different posts this week so that we get all caught up!
With that being said let's get started! When I last left you I had gotten through Thanksgiving but had not yet arrived to Christmas time yet. Obviously a lot has happened since then.
The most exciting thing that has happened was when I got to go to the central zone of Mexico during Christmas break with my host family. We went for over two weeks and traveled to 5 states, Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Puebla, Leon, Aguascalientes, plus the federal district, Mexico City. While on this trip we met my first host mom's side of the family and they were all incredibly nice. Leon is known for having shoes and clothes at very very good prices because there are many factories there, so we got to do some shopping and we got really good deals. We also went to Teotihuacan which is the tallest pyramid in Mexico. It was so much work to climb it but it was a really cool experience to have.
Mexico City was very beautiful although it is a bit dangerous and scary. We went to very many cool places in Mexico City! We went to "Bellas Artes" which is a theater that is very very beautiful. We also went to the "Torre Latino" (Latin Tower) which is their equivalent of the Empire State Building and we got to go to the top and it was really pretty to see how the city looked like it could go on forever.
On Christmas Eve we had our Christmas dinner and there was so much food and it was so delicious! On Christmas we didn't wake up until about 12:30 in the afternoon and the day was basically board games and eating leftovers but it was very fun too. Also on Christmas I got to Skype my whole family, (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents everyone) all together. It was a very emotional moment for me but it was so amazing that I got to see all of them on Christmas and that was honestly the highlight of my Christmas.
So that's all for now! Look forward to another one coming VERY soon!
Besos y Abrazos,
Ally
